Dr Nicola Munro
MBChB, DRCOG, FRNZCGP
I am a vocationally trained experienced GP. I trained at Auckland Medical School and then spent several years in the UK working at various hospitals to complete the various specialties needed for general practice. I took some time off to raise our 3 beautiful children and then I returned to NZ with my family and completed my GP training. I initially worked in Wellington and then we moved to Nelson where I worked for several years at Tasman Medical Centre before moving to Hauora Health Centre. I love all aspects of general practice and in particular, I am passionate about lifestyle medicine, health promotion, and mental health. I have 2 golden retrievers and a labrador and I love walking in the beautiful hills around Nelson with my lovely dogs and family.

Dr Sarah Richards
BSc, BA(hons), MBChB, FRNZCGP
Originally from Christchurch, I graduated from Auckland Medical School in 2005. I worked in a wide range of specialties as a junior doctor, initially in Wanganui, then Melbourne. My husband and I moved to Nelson in 2007, where we are enjoying raising our 3 children. I completed my GP training in 2013 and I have a particular interest in skin cancer medicine, minor surgery and lifestyle medicine. I have completed the Certificate of Dermoscopy (Skin Cancer College of Australasia), and am doing further training in dermoscopy and skin cancer medicine. In 2019 I also completed a postgraduate paper in Applied Nutrition and Exercise Science through AUT. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, tramping, and exploring the beautiful region we live in.
BA (Hons), NZRN, Dip HIV/AIDS
I am a UK-trained Registered Nurse and prior to working in general practice, I worked in Oncology, Neonatal research and Emergency Medicine. I came into general practice 13 years ago after doing a post-grad certificate in asthma and COPD. I continued my vocational training with primary care-based diabetes, trauma, and mental health education. I have three amazing children and a husband who also works within Hauora Health Centre. Early in 2018, Nicola and I decided to make the move to a new practice and we purchased Collingwood Health. We wanted to be responsive to patient needs, be agile enough to make good decisions quickly without lengthy bureaucracy, and bring modern health technology into general practice. I am passionately committed to the Hauora principles and hope to grow the practice to one that you feel welcomed into, where you feel we know you and where you trust us as partners in your health and well being.
I am a locally trained practice nurse, studied here at NMIT then completed my NETP and worked at a rural health care facility in Murchison. Murchison is where I grew up, so I really enjoyed giving back to my hometown community for a few years. I enjoy working in general practice for the variety, everyday challenges, and expanding my nursing scope. I also enjoy playing netball, baking and visiting my family and friends.
